The Georgian Motor Sports Federation (GASF) was founded on September 30,2009. On November 5, 2010, it became a member of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and received the status of a legislative organization in motor sports. Since 2015, it has been the only organization recognized by the Government of Georgia in the field of motor sports (professional and amateur). The purpose of the Federation is: to develop and promote issues of motorization, road traffic safety and regulation in the country. Further development and popularization of motor sports; to organize national and international motor championships, tournaments and other competitions; to conduct national, club, international competitions, tournaments, championships in motor sports; it is the only body that issues international and national licenses for racers, as well as licenses for motor events within the country and territories designated for motor races. The refereeing corps and technical services ensure the conduct of events with licenses issued by the Federation. The Federation contributes to the education of the younger generation in motor sports and their introduction to the international arena.
